Update by Ps Norman, 3:16 Church (2019)

Update by Ps Norman, 3:16 church:

"On Tue, as part of the LoveSingapore 40 Days of Prayer, we raised up the issue of abortion, adoption and fostering in Singapore.

The Word for this 9th day of prayer was from Matt ‭16:18-19‬ - 'And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.'

On this day, we declared that adoption and fostering are some of the keys to resolving the unsupported pregnancy issue in Singapore. The church has to do our part to create a nation that doesn’t need to terminate unplanned pregnancies because of the support structures that are in place and the generous hearts that will open their doors to pregnant moms and kids.

Many Christians and churches have repented over this issue. Yet repenting also means taking responsibility as we move forward. It’s time for us to turn from the spirit of abortion to the Spirit of Adoption. If every church in Singapore fosters a child or if Christian families can offer a room in their homes to a young pregnant mom or a mom & baby who need temporary shelter, the Church would have provided homes for some of the most vulnerable people who need the security and stability of a loving family. What a picture of the Father’s heart.

'He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.' ‭‭Deut ‭10:18‬

I see churches all over Singapore not just as houses of prayers. But as we take responsibility for the fatherless, the church will become a home for many to find the goodness of God. Where they will know what God’s family feels like. Where they will catch a glimpse of what it’s like at home as it is in heaven."
